Visa Requirements:

A-Work Visa:

The requirements are:

  • Valid Passport with a minimum of six (6) months prior to expiration date.
  • One completed current visa application form as issued by Kuwait Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
  • 1 x Passport photo.
  • Police record.
  • HIV test (AIDS test).
  • Health Certificate: Obtained from the local doctor certifying that the patient is in good health and free from contagious diseases. Lab test results for the following: Hepatitis B & C, Malaria, Filariasis, Syphilis and Chest X-Ray for Tuberculosis.
  • Police Clearance of No Criminal Record obtained from the: Federal Bureau of Investigation – FBI, and should be dated after the issuance date of the Work Permit. The Police Clearance has to be certified first by the U.S. State Department in Washington, DC (Tel: (202) 647-5002 or (800) 688-9889), then legalized by the Consulate with a $25.00 Authentication fee. The Authenticated Police Clearance should be presented to the Kuwaiti Authorities for residency purposes.
  • Employment Contract.
  • $175.00 company check, money order or cashier check.
  • Self Addressed Envelope.

 

B-Visit Visa:

The requirements are:

  • Valid Passport with a minimum of six (6) months prior to expiration date.
  • Two (2) completed current visa application forms.
  • 2 x Passport photo.
  • Name and phone number of the contact person in Kuwait. $150.00 for one entry visa (Valid three months), $175.00 for multiple entry visa, (Valid one year).
  • Self Addressed Envelope.

Purpose of visit and additional requirements are as follows:

  • BUSINESS VISITORS: Letter from U.S. firm requesting the issuance of a visa and guaranteeing the applicant while in Kuwait.
  • VISITORS OF FRIENDS AND RELATIVES: Holding No Objection Certificates’ obtained by relatives/friend in Kuwait are not required to stamp visas in their passports by the Embassy.
  • PERSONS GOING FOR EMPLOYMENT:
    • Government Contract: copy of Letter of Appointment from Kuwait.
    • Private Sector: Work Permit issued by the General Department of Immigration Affairs in Kuwait. (If spouse or family members are accompanying applicant, Work permit, No Objection Certificate or Letter of Appointment must indicate that.)

 

Student Visa:

The requirements are:

Accompany Family Visa:

The requirements are:

  • Valid Passport with a minimum of six (6) months prior to expiration date.
  • One completed current visa application form as issued by Kuwait Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
  • 1 x Passport photo.
  • Police record.
  • HIV test (AIDS test).
  • Health Certificate: Obtained from the local doctor certifying that the patient is in good health and free from contagious diseases. Lab test results for the following: Hepatitis B & C, Malaria, Filariasis, Syphilis and Chest X-Ray for Tuberculosis.
  • Police Clearance of No Criminal Record obtained from the: Federal Bureau of Investigation – FBI, and should be dated after the issuance date of the Work Permit. The Police Clearance has to be certified first by the U.S. State Department in Washington, DC (Tel: (202) 647-5002 or (800) 688-9889), then legalized by the Consulate with a $25.00 Authentication fee.   • The Accompany Family Permit.
  • $175.00 company check, money order or cashier check.
  • Children under 5 years of age must present an up-to-date schedule of essential vaccinations.
  • Self Addressed Envelope.

 

Please Note The Following For all Visa Types:

  • All payments should be paid to the official name: The General Consulate of the State of Kuwait.
  • Please note that the processing time for visa issuing is seven to ten working days.
  • Holders of US passports can have visa entries issued upon arrival to Kuwait; however, to facilitate their entry, it is preferable for them to get their visas through the Consulate.
  • Permit to re-enter the United States is not a U.S. Passport as indicated on page #1 of permit.
  • Passports sent by mail should include a pre-paid, self-addressed envelope (registered mail) for return.
  • Fees should be paid by cash, money order or company check. PERSONAL CHECKS ARE NOT ACCEPTED.

 

NOTICE ON SENDING DOCUMENTS TO CONSULATE BY MAIL: Include a prepaid return label and envelope (from FedEx, UPS, or U.S. Postal Service ONLY) with the return address label filled out completely. A proper prepaid return envelope must include a “PRE-PAID” label. Any package without a proper prepaid return envelope and label will be put on hold until a proper return envelope is received. It is the applicant’s responsibility to determine the EXACT recturn shipping costs. All labels must have a tracking number, and applicants are advised to keep both incoming and outgoing tracking numbers for their records.
